First Hunt Foundation Teams With 360 Sportsman to Train Hunters
Where’s a good hunting spot? What do I need in order to start hunting? There are many questions a new hunter faces when first getting into the sport, many of which can be quite overwhelming.
While entry-level hunters do their best to find the answers, the initiation process often turns them away or leads them to seek out beneficial resources like the First Hunt Foundation.
A 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the First Hunt Foundation was developed with the new hunter in mind as it strives to educate and provide free mentorship to those just starting on their hunting journey. New sportsmen and women are given the opportunity to receive in-field guidance and education through an authorized, local mentor.
Those wishing to get started can sign up for free to become a mentee, and after registering on-line are given a login to access a database of over 1,365 registered, background checked mentors across the country.
Thousands of new hunters every year not only get the help and personal support they need but also find success in the field as they learn shooting and outdoor skills allowing them to fill their game tags harvesting turkey, deer, elk, waterfowl, bear and a multitude of small game.
Those wishing to become a FHF mentor or mentee are encouraged to visit firsthuntfoundation.org and sign up for free.
But that’s not all - with 2025 now here, the First Hunt Foundation is expanding its teaching team to include a new National Director of Marketing, Taylor Riley (Rexburg, ID).
Taylor’s work includes numerous media production and marketing positions across various industries such as Christian-centered media, insurance and financial services, and the outdoor industry. Taylor will be looking for volunteer specialists to help him with the First Hunt Foundation’s social media, public relations, tradeshows and video marketing. If you have those skills and want to give something back to the outdoor industry, we all love, contact Taylor at taylorr@firsthuntfoundation.org.
Taylor currently operates as the owner of 360 Sportsman, the new outdoor masterclass platform covering classes from fishing to hunting, and all outdoor sports in between. The masterclasses are developed in a way that sportsmen and women can watch on-demand, expert instructors demonstrate outdoor skills, ultimately saving outdoor enthusiasts time and money from trial and error. FHF President Rick Brazell says, “We are excited to have someone with Taylor’s skill and passion on our national team. Our mentors can utilize the constantly expanding courses on 360 Sportsman to enhance their personal skills and knowledge which they can then pass on to new hunters. We’re excited any time we can help our mentors grow. This is a great partnership for learning.”
“It’s such an honor to serve the outdoor community with this amazing team of volunteers and experienced leaders. The First Hunt Foundation truly focuses on the mentee and lifting them up, it’s a great mission to be a part of regardless of the capacity you serve.” says Taylor.
360 Sportsman is seeking out industry professionals to teach masterclasses, and as partners with the First Hunt Foundation wishes to bridge the gap between digital learning to in-field development.
If you’d like to get involved, contact Taylor at taylor@360sportsman.org for access to First Hunt Foundation resources, or more information regarding 360 Sportsman masterclasses.
