Laramie, WY (January 6, 2025) - Following a successful 2024 Intern Program, the Firearms Research Center (FRC) and the University of Wyoming College of Law are excited to announce their 2025 Summer Intern Program. This program is designed to place University of Wyoming College of Law, Business, and Engineering students in the firearms industry. This internship provides students an opportunity to develop knowledge and relationships to support future employment.
This is the second year of the Summer Intern Program. In 2024, the Firearms Research Center placed two interns in the firearms industry. Franklin Armory (www.franklinarmory.com), in Minden, NV, and Orchid Advisors (www.orchidadvisors.com), in West Hartford, CT hosted interns from the University of Wyoming College of Law for the Summer 2024 Intern Program
“Our inaugural program was successful for our Law interns and their host employers,” said George Mocsary, Professor of Law and Director, Firearms Research Center. “For our 2025 Intern Program, we are expanding the intern candidate talent pool to include law, business, and engineering students. This year we are increasing our on-campus efforts to attract more candidates and generate interest from a broader range of students.”
The FRC 2025 Summer Intern Program is seeking industry brands who would like to host interns for this summer. Industry brands will post the intern roles at the University of Wyoming by January 31, 2025. Interns would work on-site starting June 1, 2025, for 8 – 10 weeks. Firearm industry brands interested in participating should contact Leland Nichols, Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer, Orchid Advisors at lnichols@joinorchid.com or (336) 280-6078.
“The Firearms Research Center’s Summer Intern Program is a phenomenal way for firearm businesses to recruit interns for company initiatives, understand the capability of the candidates, and develop relationships to encourage students to enter the firearm industry,” said Leland Nichols, Chief Strategy and Business Development Officer at Orchid Advisors. “The firearms industry needs to expand its efforts to recruit talented law, business, and engineering resources to our teams.”

About The Firearms Research Center
The Firearms Research Center is dedicated to supporting original groundbreaking research involving firearms. It will introduce cross-functional and cross-societal public, media, and academic discourse on firearms, with more than emotion and oversimplification, not available in academia or elsewhere. By bringing together subject matter specialists and cultivating new scholars, the Center will generate a broad discourse and produce meaningful change in how firearms are discussed and understood. The FRC will help the University of Wyoming College of Law become the law school for students wishing to practice in the firearms industry - broadly understood to include those who produce, employ, own, and regulate firearms.
