Burris Optics announces continued support of the Rocky Mountain Heroes Foundation, a Colorado-based 501(c)(3) that helps U.S. military veterans and their families reintegrate through hunting and fishing experiences. Founded by Brian L. "Sol" Soliday, the organization equips participants with reliable firearms and optics, with Burris serving as its first strategic partner.

Dallas Safari Club elected Rick Warren as Board President, along with Chris Ruhman, Colby Hale, and Daniel McGehee to the Board of Directors. The election was confirmed at the Annual General Meeting on March 19, 2026, with membership also approving proposed bylaw updates.

The University of Montana's Wildlife Biology Program named Heather Johnson as the new Boone and Crockett Professor of Wildlife Conservation, the sixth researcher to hold this position since its establishment in 1993. Johnson, a researcher with the Montana Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit, specializes in large mammal conservation and climate change impacts on wildlife.

The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports (Council) is offering $5,000 student scholarship sponsorships to support emerging Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation (R3) research and leadership professionals attending the National R3 Symposium. Sponsors receive logo recognition and direct engagement with scholars while helping build the future workforce for hunting, shooting sports, and conservation.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation acquired RMEF OutdoorClass, an online learning platform featuring video courses by experts John Barklow, Corey Jacobsen, Randy Newberg, and Remi Warren. The platform offers hunting instruction on elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer, and pronghorn, with upcoming classes from Jason Matzinger, Nate Hosie, and Kristy Titus.

The Wild Sheep Foundation concluded its 49th annual convention in Reno, Nevada, raising record funding for wild sheep conservation. Gray N. Thornton, WSF president and CEO, highlighted that millions of dollars will support wildlife agencies and partners in management programs, with a conservation permit selling for $1 million.

Dallas Safari Club announced Russell Stacy as its new Chief Executive Officer. Stacy, a fourth-generation agri-business operator and DSC Life Member, previously served on the DSC and DSC Foundation Boards. He will lead DSC as it temporarily relocates its annual Convention to Atlanta in 2026-2027 and Houston in 2028-2029.

The Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports announced that the R3 License Data Dashboard will not be maintained for 2026 following the completion of its development funding. The public tool provided free visualizations of hunting and fishing license purchase trends to support Recruitment, Retention, and Reactivation efforts.

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation announced new board leadership with Todd Walker as chair, AshLee Strong as vice chair, and five new members including Mark Baker, John Green, Ike Eastman, Will Primos, and Adam Weatherby. The 16-member board from 11 states leads RMEF's conservation efforts for elk, wildlife habitat, and hunting heritage.

HeadHunters NW completed an executive search resulting in Dr. Todd Adkins' appointment as Executive Director of the Oregon Hunters Association. Dr. Adkins brings 30 years of hunting and conservation experience, including previous roles at Sportsmen's Alliance and the NRA-ILA, and will lead OHA's transformation and growth.

The National Bowhunter Education Foundation (NBEF) will attend the Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies (AFWA) Annual Conference in Madison, WI. The 114th annual meeting offers an opportunity for North America’s fish and wildlife agencies to discuss sound, science-based management and conservation, recruitment, retention and reactivation (R3) and other strategic priorities.

A Crossbow Education Instructor training session was recently held in Kingsville, MO, to prepare Camp Valor Outdoor instructors to teach Crossbow Safety to military veteran participants. CVO hosts a variety of shooting sports and outdoor activities for veterans.
