The Hunting Wire proudly announces that Jim Curcuruto has received its Voice of the Year award for supporting the Voice of Leadership Panel.
Curcuruto is an industry veteran that has extensive experience conducting research and building programs for the outdoor industry.
For more than a decade, Jim has expanded industry knowledge by directing millions of dollars worth of research that has provided insights on topics such as; Outdoor Sports Participation, Economic Impact, Customer Segmentation, Diversity Participation, and Women Gun Owners. His research findings have been referenced thousands of times in print, social and television.
Jim has fought for hunters' and gun owners’ rights as an expert witness for the outdoor industry, where he has provided research and testimony for high-profile court cases such as; Miller v Becerra, Duncan v Becerra, Worman v Healy, Friedman v Highland Park, and Kolbe v O'Malley.
Curcuruto is a leader in the national R3 effort, where he uses research insights to recruit, retain, and reactivate hunters, anglers, and target shooters. He received the 2020 Special Recognition Award from the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies as part of the Council to Advance Hunting and Shooting Sports’ National R3 Implementation Workgroup.
Jim is currently serving as the Executive Director of Outdoor Stewards of Conservation Foundation (OSCF), a 501c3 non-profit with a mission to use research-based communications and engagement programs to recruit the next generation of HATS (Hunters, Anglers, Trappers, and Shooters) and promote the fact that HATS are the primary funders of land, fish and wildlife conservation in America. Programs developed by OSCF under Jim’s leadership include; “Fill A Bag While Filling Your Tag,” “Come With!” and “Connecting with Conservation.”
